"Potts has two qualities that make this a must read. The first is that he is a natural writer, and the second is that his knowledge of the game is A1.
The old cliche of 'the book will pay for itself in no time' which is often said about gambling/betting books, for once is absolutely true here.

Warrsan ready for battle
Warrsan is the horse that bookies Victor Chandler want to be with for Sunday's Prix de L'Arc de Triomphe.Clive Brittain's six-year-old has already notched up two Group One wins this season and that augurs well for Longchamp glory according to spokesman Neal Wilkins."Seven of the last nine Arc winners have won at least two Group Ones during that season and Warrsan certainly fits the bill in that respect," he said.Warrsan fought his way to the line to win the valuable Grosser Preis Von Baden last month with the even money favourite and last year's Arc runner-up Mubtaker back in eighth place."His battling qualities and sheer durability make him a racing certainty to finish in the frame in my opinion," added Wilkins.Derby winner North Light remains the firm's favourite for Europe's richest race but Wilkins said that he is yet to be convinced that Sir Michael Stoute's three-year-old is ready to deliver Paris joy."Apparently North Light is persistently stiff after his gallops and that is not the ideal preparation for an Arc winner." BBC SPORT | Other Sports | Horse Racing | Tic Tac Guide: "Tic-tac is the secret and complex sign language used by bookmakers at racecourses to indicate movements in the price of a horse.
Those plying this skill usually wear white gloves and stand on wooden crates so they can be easily seen, although mobile phones have made the art a rarer sight. The signs are further encoded by use of the 'twist card' which jumbles the racecard numbers for use by specific firms.
Most prices are also known by slang, as in the case of Burlington Bertie 100-30. Or scruffy and dirty, one hundred to thirty. "
