High Fees Motivate Former eBay Power-Seller to Design OnlineAuction.com

High Fees Motivate Former eBay Power-Seller to Design OnlineAuction.com

GRANTS PASS, OR -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 01/11/2005 -- OnlineAuction.com, after seven years in development, launched the opening of their online auction site on the CAR AND DRIVER Radio Program in Beverly Hills, Calif. Throwing down the gauntlet, OnlineAuction.com (www.OnlineAuction.com) challenges eBay feature for feature with bargain basement pricing.

"This is a real David & Goliath story," said Alan Taylor, Producer and Host of CAR AND DRIVER Radio. "Our guest today is Chris Fain, CEO/Founder of OnlineAuction.com. Chris is a guy who previously sold over a million dollars a year on eBay, gets sick of paying their high fees and starts his own online auction site -- OnlineAuction.com."

Fain, an eBay Power-Seller for years, talks about his experiences selling over a million dollars a year on eBay and the high price tag it came with -- approximately $20,000 in fees.

"At OnlineAuction.com, no matter how much you sell or how much you sell it for, the fee is still only $8 a month, period," said Fain. "There's no place else you can get worldwide advertising for $96 a year -- not print, not radio and certainly not television."

How will OnlineAuction.com make any money at $8 a month?

"People are always asking us how can we make any money at that price -- easy, keep it simple," said Fain. "With eBay's 44 different fees and enhancement options users are easily confused and invoices of active sellers, like myself, are difficult to impossible to reconcile. OnlineAuction.com charges $8 per month and has only five enhancement options -- it takes a whole lot less overhead to manage, invoice, reconcile and communicate a fixed monthly charge with an occasional added enhancement option."

What makes OnlineAuction.com different from other online auction sites?

"Very few online auction sites can compete with eBay, an online auction site where you can buy and sell absolutely anything -- until now," said Fain. "Many other online auctions are storefronts for their own business or products and/or they buy and sell in niche markets only. As a professional auctioneer, my goal was to design OnlineAuction.com to resemble a live auction as closely as possible, while providing the best online auction experience on the market. I believe we have done that."
